Conte Cesare Mattei

About Dr. Count Ceaser Mattei

Founder of Electro Homeopathy

Dr. Count Ceaser Mattei was born on 11th January 1809, in Rochita, a small hamlet near Bologna, Italy. Born into a wealthy family, he devoted his early life to studies and social welfare. Though initially involved in politics and public service, Count Mattei’s true passion lay in the betterment of humanity through natural medicine.

Early Life & Public Service

In 1847, Mattei wrote a remarkable book on Humanity, which brought him into the sphere of politics during a period of great social struggle. Recognized for his dedication and intellect, he was appointed Lieutenant to help protect the people of Australia and later promoted to Deputy Judge and Member of the Roman Parliament in 1848.

Despite these honors, Count Mattei found little satisfaction in politics. He soon resigned from all public positions to dedicate his life to scientific research and medical innovation.

The Birth of Electro Homeopathy

Guided by his mentor Professor Paulokasta, and inspired by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann’s discoveries in Homeopathy, Mattei began a lifelong journey into the healing powers of plants. His research led him to two groundbreaking principles:

  • The presence of electrical rays in vegetation.
  • The combination of complex rays for complex treatments.

Through over 30 years of research, Count Mattei developed a purely vegetative medical system, now known as Electro Homeopathy — a therapy that harnesses the natural “electrical energy” within plants to restore balance and health.

Discoveries & Success

Mattei prepared his medicines using unique natural processes and achieved extraordinary success. He treated more than 2,000 patients at St. Theresa Hospital, restoring their health through his new method.

On 6th December 1887, Count Mattei legally authorized his close relative M.V. Mattei to continue his work, allowing other renowned doctors like Dr. Candy, Dr. Earson, Dr. J.J. Gilden, Dr. Wilkinson, Dr. H. Worth of London, and Dr. Aram Theobold of Glasgow to successfully practice Electro Homeopathy worldwide.

Legacy

Count Mattei passed away on 9th September 1896, mourned by over 7,000 people who attended his funeral. His discoveries, however, lived on — spreading across Europe, India, and beyond.

In India, eminent practitioners such as Dr. Yudhveer Singh, Dr. B.K. Palke, Dr. M.V. Kulkarni, Dr. Radha Heldor, Dr. Bannerjee, Dr. N.L. Sinha, and Dr. B.P. Saxena adopted and promoted Electro Homeopathy. Dr. Yudhveer Singh also founded the Jawaharlal Nehru Homeopathy College in Delhi, contributing significantly to the field.

Research & Continuing Work

Even today, research on Electro Homeopathy continues. At Central Homeopathy College, Science Department, 118 Amherst Lane, Kolkata, old texts and experimental studies are preserved and ongoing — exploring new methods of treatment through Mattei’s system.

Count Mattei’s work gained worldwide recognition. In 1896, Dr. Chass F. Zampat published a bulletin in Leipzig, Germany, celebrating Mattei’s contributions. His book, “High Moral Values of Mankind” (published in Bologna, 1871), remains a symbol of his dedication to humanity and has been registered with the United Nations Organization (UNO).

The Vision Lives On

Count Mattei’s philosophy combined science, nature, and compassion — believing that the vital energy in plants could help heal the human body. His pioneering efforts laid the foundation for Electro Homeopathy, a system that continues to inspire medical researchers and practitioners around the world.
